Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology

Located in the New York City borough of Queens, a short train ride from midtown Manhattan, Vaughn College has an enrollment of approximately 1,600 students and offers bachelors and associate degree programs in engineering, engineering technology, management, and aviation. The college also offers a unique masters degree in airport management.As career choices and opportunities have evolved in the 21st century, Vaughn College has responded with degree programs that fit the interests of contemporary students. Our students study electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, electronic engineering technology, general management, airline management, airport management, aviation maintenance management, aviation maintenance, aircraft operations, aeronautical sciences, aeronautical engineering technology, flight dispatch and air traffic control (non-degree program.) Vaughn is also proud to offer a mechatronic engineering program that equips students with the skills needed to succeed in the aerospace, automotive, computer, communications and other high-tech industries. It is one of only three ABET accredited mechatronic engineering programs in the United States. Vaughn College is committed to offering unique value and affordability for all students. In a recent study by the Equality of Opportunity Projects, Vaughn was named the top school in the country in providing upward mobility mobility (both access and outcomes), ahead of 2137 other colleges and universities. Vaughn is a training partner of the Federal Aviation Administration, giving students and graduates in the associate and bachelors programs in electronic engineering technology, avionics an inside track in obtaining internships and potential full-time employment with the organization. Vaughn is also one of only 33 schools nationwide approved for the FAA Air Traffic Control Collegiate Training Initiative. Vaughn provides learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom. From clubs and activities to internships, site visits and more, students have an opportunity to build your resume while attending college. Vaughns smaller size enables faculty to remain engaged in the intellectual development of their students, and its active alumni network and location in the heart of the New York metropolitan area provide ample opportunities for internships and post-graduate employment. Over 92 percent of graduates are employed or continue their education within one year of commencement. In recent years, the opportunities generated by technology have crossed into all segments of American industry. Demand is high for jobs with electronics engineering firms, computer software and fiber-optics communication companies, in government, defense and the transportation sectors. Our alumni grace many varied fields, from airport management and engineering to manufacturing and electronics. They have built successful careers in organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration, IBM, Xerox, Kodak, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, United Technologies, Embraer, Cummins Inc., Cessna Citation and Sikorsky. The analytical, technical and communication skills developed here by more than 5,800 Vaughn alumni make them integral parts of any corporate team, as well as lifelong students of the high-tech world in which we live.Vaughn also offers numerous opportunities for involvement in campus clubs and activities. A few of the most popular include the Vaughn College Veterans Organization, Engineers Without Borders, The Association of Airport Executives, and Vaughn Colleges 2016 Vex World Champion Robotics Team.
