Valley City State University

Valley City State University (VCSU) prepares people for life through visionary leadership and exemplary practices in teaching, learning and service. Founded in 1890 as a teachers college in the southeastern North Dakota town of Valley City (population 6,500), VCSU has built on that rich tradition with a student-focused, learning-centered approach, offering more than 80 degree programs and enabling its 1,400 students to thrive in a personable, accessible and affordable environment. Its small, beautiful campus provides VCSU students with plentiful opportunities for close connections with fellow students, faculty and staff, and for participation in a complete range of student activities and NAIA athletic programs. One of the first "laptop universities" in the nation (each full-time student receives a laptop computer), VCSU continues its innovative use of technology with many online offerings, including several undergraduate majors and a master of education degree program. VCSU alumni are proud of their alma mater and carry forward the universitys heritage through success in their postgraduate endeavors.
