University of Wisconsin--Stout

The University of Wisconsin-Stout is a recognized leader in preparing their students for a satisfying and challenging job. Fully 97.4 percent of its 2015-16 graduating class had landed a lucrative position in the workforce or were continuing their education. About 85 percent of the graduates were working within their field of study, and many majors had 100 percent placement success. Students are highly valued in the workplace because 90 percent of them have some degree of workplace experience either through co-ops or other methods before graduating, leading to many job offers before graduation. Lab-based experiences are provided for the majority of students in all programs. The ability of UW-Stout to place its graduates is clearly paying dividends; it had record enrollment in fall 2015 and fall 2016. It has had the third highest rate of enrollment growth in the UW System over the past decade. UW-Stout was officially designated Wisconsins Polytechnic University by the Board of Regents in March 2007. UW-Stout is an emerging engineering institution with four programs in mechanical, manufacturing, computer and plastics engineering, along with engineering technology. UW-Stout also has a very well-defined and inclusive strategic planning model and in 2001 was awarded Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in higher education.
