Established in 190, Sweet Briar College empowers young women through a rigorous liberal arts and sciences education. It is one of two women's colleges in the country with an ABET-accredited engineering program. More than 40 areas of study include computer science, business, the arts and humanities, as well as graduate degrees in teaching. Nationally recognized study-abroad and equestrian programs enhance project-based learning and leadership skills development. Working in and outside the classroom, students collaborate with exceptional faculty. Learning is a two-way conversation. Professors are mentors and allies, and small class sizes invite one-on-one research. The College's historic 3,250-acre campus in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains is the fourth-largest in the nation, and one of the most beautiful.
