Suffolk University

Suffolk University is a comprehensive institution granting a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degrees in the College of Arts & Sciences, Sawyer Business School, and Law School. Located in the heart of Boston, Suffolk gives students unparalleled access to this dynamic city and all it has to offer. We are steps--or a short T ride-- away from Boston's top employers, and we prepare students for professional success from day one. Suffolk students enjoy a wealth of opportunities close to campus, from career-defining internships in New Englands business, government, legal, medical, and nonprofit communities to guest speakers who are experts in their fields. Plus, they enjoy close proximity to Boston's top attractions, from museums and historic sites to sports and live entertainment venues. We take pride in being a personal, student-centered university, where faculty members lead small classes and focus on nurturing their students' success. We take the time to recognize each of our students' promise, identify their strengths, and build important mentoring relationships. As we have done since our founding, we strive to give students the tools they need to excel in their chosen fields. Suffolk's faculty members are of the highest caliber. Ninety-four percent hold PhDs. Many still practice in their fields and share their professional insights in the classroom. Teaching and mentoring, however, are their first priorities. At the undergraduate level, the University offers more than 70 majors and 1,000 courses . Campus life is equally vibrant. Our students participate in more than 80 student clubs and organizations; a nationally ranked debate team; three student-run publications; a strong performing arts program; intercollegiate and intramural teams for student-athletes; and numerous special events, lectures, and community service activities. Suffolk's facilities include four residence halls whose rooms offer students sweeping views of the city. Our campus boasts a state-of-the-art undergraduate library and a renovated historic theater. 2015 witnessed the opening of our newest academic building. Equipped with the latest in educational technology, this campus hub features general-education and science classrooms, a light-filled cafeteria that also hosts University events, and indoor and outdoor gathering spaces. 2015 also marked the opening of our new athletics complex and playing fields--the new home base for the Rams baseball and softball teams. In addition to our flagship campus in Boston, Suffolk students may study at our campus in Madrid, Spain. We also offer 59 study abroad programs worldwide, as well as global travel seminars and other faculty-led travel opportunities. Ours is a diverse university. More than 1,000 international students are enrolled at our two campuses, and our worldwide alumni network spans 112 countries. We are committed to helping international students adjust to life in the United States, offering them social and cultural activities, as well as a robust English as a second language program, intensive writing courses, and tutoring to enrich their educational experiences with us. Suffolk's graduate programs and Law School offerings also enjoy a reputation for excellence. U.S. News & World Report ranked the University in the first tier of "Best Universities Master's in the North." Suffolk University Law School is the only school nationwide ranked in all four legal skills areas--legal writing, trial advocacy, clinical programs, and dispute resolution--by U.S. News.
