Ramapo College of New Jersey

Ramapo College of New Jersey is sometimes mistaken for a private college. This is, in part, due to its unique interdisciplinary academic structure, its size of 5,762 undergraduate students (and 472 graduate students), and its pastoral setting. Ramapo offers bachelors degrees in the arts, business, humanities, social sciences and the sciences, masters degrees in business, educational leadership, educational technology, nursing, social work, and special education. Certificate programs are offered in professional studies including teachers education and nursing education. Ramapo has articulation programs at the bachelors, masters and doctoral levels in the health and medical fields. Ramapo offers these joint programs in partnership with the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Science-School of Health Related Professions, New York Chiropractic College, the State University of New York (SUNY), Lake Erie College of Medicine, New York University College of Dentistry, and New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Ramapo boasts an average student faculty ratio of 18 to 1. The average class size of 23 affords students the opportunity to develop close ties to Ramapos exceptional faculty. Approx. 91 percent of fulltime faculty hold terminal degrees in their field. In May 2010, Ramapo was reaccredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. January 2011, Ramapo earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Ramapo is consistently recognized by many college-ranking organizations for its high standings in the Carnegie-classification of Public Masters Colleges and Universities (medium-size programs).
