Its Hammond neighborhood location consists of 23 buildings on 172-acres while the wooded location of Westville has 11 buildings on 269-acres. About a third of the Graduate level attend full time while just under half of the Undergraduate level are enrolled as full-time students. Purdue University Northwest employs a little over 1,700 faculty and staff having a student to faculty ratio of 19 to 1. The retention rate for the full-time, first-time bachelor's degree seeking Undergraduates who entered in fall of 2015 and returned fall of 2016 was 61%. The 6 year graduation rate for the 2010 entering cohort was 28%.Purdue University Northwest Athletics will begin competition as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division II (NCAA II) and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) during the 2017-18 athletic year in its 13 athletic programs of baseball, softball, basketball, golf, soccer, tennis, cross country and woman's volleyball.
