Mount St. Mary's University offers a rigorous, Catholic liberal arts education featuring a nationally recognized shared curriculum, a caring and supportive faculty and an intimate campus where students get to know their professors, alumni and staff. We seek to cultivate a community of learners formed by faith, engaged in discovery, and empowered for leadership in the Church, the professions, and the world. As the nation's oldest independent Catholic university, we are mindful of our role in the Church's mission to the world and we welcome students of all faiths. The Mount offers more than 80 majors, minors, concentrations and special programs; business, criminal justice and accounting were the most popular in 2016. All undergraduates combine a shared curriculum in the liberal arts with more in-depth courses from their major fields of study. Our tightly-knit alumni network of more than 18,000 includes leaders at Amazon, Google, Facebook, the Federal Government, the top four accounting firms, Michael Kors, professional sports teams, and non-profit organizations. Our students attend graduate programs at top universities in the country, including Yale, University of Pennsylvania, Purdue and University of Virginia. With 19 Division I sports teams, over 70 clubs and organizations, and more than 150 events on and off-campus per year, there is always something to do and ways to get involved. Through the Office of Social Justice, Mount students participate in service trips to Belize. Closer to home, they serve poor, elderly, homeless, or otherwise disadvantaged people through work with groups such as Habitat for Humanity, Peoples Homesteading Group in Baltimore, and Special Olympics of Maryland. The Mount offers graduate degrees in business, education, health administration, biotechnology and management, and sport management; graduate certificates in project management, organizational development, government contracting, logistics and supply chain management, forensic accounting and fraud investigation, technology facilitation and reading specialist; and undergraduate accelerated degrees for adults in business, criminal justice and human services.
