Mount St. Mary College

As reflected in its motto Doce Me Veritatem (Teach Me the Truth), Mount Saint Mary College is an independent, coeducational institution committed to providing students with a liberal arts education to prepare them for lives of leadership and service. Through a variety of majors and professional programs, students are prepared for career entry or graduate and professional studies. Consistent with Judeo-Christian values and the Dominican tradition of education that values the inherent worth of the individual, the mission of Mount Saint Mary College is to create an environment that fosters close student-faculty interaction that enables students to reach their full potential as lifelong learners. The college offers undergraduate programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science, and graduate programs leading to the Master of Science in Education, Master of Science in Nursing, and Master in Business Administration. An accelerated evening program is offered for non-traditional and adult students. The Mount Saint Mary College campus in Newburgh, New York is situated on 60 acres of rolling green hills that overlook the western banks of the Hudson River. On campus, The Mounts history co-exists graciously with the present in its beautiful campus buildings, which range from a stately 19th century home and carriage house to a sleek modern technology center and our new or renovated residence halls. The Mounts proximity to New York City provides our students with many opportunities to take prestigious co-op and internship positions with New York City businesses, media organizations, government offices, nonprofit organizations, hospitals, and schools, as well as local organizations. The Mount offers students opportunities to study abroad in Australia, England, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. Our students cite the close student-faculty interaction; the range of clubs, organizations, and on-campus student life; the opportunities for internships and study abroad; and the community service programs, both local and national, that the college provides as reasons why they value the college experience at Mount Saint Mary College.
