McDaniel College

McDaniel College is a diverse student-centered community committed to excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and professional studies. With careful mentoring and attention to the individual, McDaniel changes lives. We challenge students to develop their unique potentials with reason, imagination, and human concern. Through flexible academic programs, collaborative and experiential learning, and global engagement, McDaniel prepares students for successful lives of leadership, service, and social responsibility. The McDaniel Plan, a customized and personal curriculum delivered in classes that average 15 students, allows students the flexibility in choosing courses and even student-designed majors. Students enroll in first-year seminars, a optional sophomore interdisciplinary studies (SIS) programs, and senior capstone projects. Special opportunities abound through McDaniel's Center for Experience and Opportunity, The Encompass Distinction program in innovation and entrepreneurship, the Honors Program, and Global Initiatives including the Global Fellows program. Students can take advantage of studying abroad at McDaniel's European campus in Budapest, Hungary, or a host of other destinations; intensive three-week Jan Term courses offered on campus or abroad; and student-faculty research collaborations. Additionally, students can participate in over 90 student organizations and 24 intercollegiate sports. A nine-hole golf course doubles as an 18-hole FootGolf course and is a popular snowboarding and sledding spot in the winter months. McDaniel also offers access to the resources of Baltimore and Washington, D.C..
