MCADs MissionThe Minneapolis College of Art and Design educates individuals to be professional artists and designers, pioneering thinkers, creative leaders, and engaged global citizens.Founded in 1886, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design is an independent, non-profit institution offering a four-year curriculum integrating the Liberal Arts into 14 professional BFA degree majors in Fine Arts, Media Arts and Design; a four-year BS degree program in the area of Entrepreneurial Studies; a two-year MFA degree programs; a two-year, online MA in Sustainable Design; a two-year or three-year pathway toward an online certificate in Interactive Design and Marketing; and a two-year Post Baccalaureate certificate program. MCAD is rated among the top colleges of art and design in the nation. It has more than 1,500 students participating in Continuing Studies and young artist programs. Community outreach includes gallery exhibitions on and off campus, public lectures and the annual MCAD Art Sale.
