Lincoln Christian University

Lincoln Christian University (LCU) was founded in the heart of Illinois in 1944 by a preacher with a vision to establish a college to prepare Christian leaders to serve a changing world. Today, more than 1,000 students pursue their undergraduate, seminary, adult and graduate education on campus, online or at one of our extension sites in Normal, Indianapolis or Las Vegas. Students who live for Christ come from all backgrounds, with more than 25 denominations represented on campus. LCU graduates acquire the knowledge, skills and Biblical worldview to serve with a global heart across the U.S. and around the world. Lincoln Christian University is a Christian higher education community whose mission is to nurture and equip Christians with a Biblical worldview to serve and lead in the church and the world. From playing field to mission field, from dorm room to conference room, from homework to real work - that is the journey students take at Lincoln Christian University. The LCU experience is an education that is Biblically-focused and culturally-relevant, developing the whole person: intellectually, spiritually and socially. Students are mentored by professors who teach them how to think; not what to think. Classes help students study life from a Biblical point of view. At LCU, students gain the skills, knowledge and tools to serve God faithfully in their careers - whether vocational ministry, education, counseling, healthcare, business, or some other field entirely. LCU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission: A Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (www.ncahlc.org) and the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (www.abhe.org). Additionally, the Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (www.ats.edu). Ask alumni what sets LCU apart, and you will hear a common answer: our faculty. Students get to know them not just as teachers, but as mentors and friends. Yet, their abiding passions are the classroom and their students. They know the challenges and rewards of ministry and missionary work, and they are eager to share their insights and guidance with you. Their doors are always open as they mentor and advise students who share their passion for a life devoted to Gods Word. Every LCU professor has an advanced degree, and many are widely sought after as authors and speakers. They have published hundreds of articles, chapters, and books in their writing ministries. LCU faculty members are engaged in ministry around the corner, around the country, and around the world. LCU professors are active in their academic fields and guilds, serving as presidents, presenters, and participants in national and international conferences. Each year they deliver sermons and lessons in hundreds of churches and colleges worldwide. LCU students come from all walks of life. Every student is unique. Some hear the calling to explore Gods Word immediately following high school or college. Others return to school after years of serving in their chosen field. Still others come to us because they have sensed a new call on their lives. Students span a variety of ages and backgrounds. Most are supported by friends, spouses, and families - others are finding their path on their own. Whatever their backgrounds, LCU students are part of a community of fellow servants who connect to Biblical teaching and living through Christ. LCU is one of the most affordable private universities in the Midwest and costs less than many public universities. More than 85% of new students receive some form of financial aid from government grants, loans and LCU scholarships. Lincoln, Illinois is home to about 15,000 residents, and is conveniently located midway between Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis. At the halfway point on historic Illinois Route 66 and Interstate 55, there is plenty to do and see in all directions.
