Lewis University

Lewis University is a Catholic university offering distinctive undergraduate and graduate programs to nearly 6,500 traditional and adult students. Lewis offers multiple campus locations, online degree programs, and a variety of formats that provide accessibility and convenience to a growing student population. Sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis prepares intellectually engaged, ethically grounded, globally aware, and socially responsible graduates. The seventh largest private not-for-profit university in Illinois, Lewis has received numerous national recognitions from The Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report, Colleges of Distinction, Best for Vets and a Best Private College Value in the Midwest. Lewis provides a well-rounded liberal and professional education in fields including business, education, nursing, criminal/social justice, and aviation. The aviation program was nationally recognized in 2013 with the Loening Trophy, and has recently renovated the hangar in the Harold E. White Aviation Center to include the installation of six lab rooms fully outfitted with Snap-on Tools for instruction, and a full-size CFM-56 turbo fan engine from Southwest Airlines. Additional resources include a LEED-certified science center; a Boeing 737 jet for clinical experiences; new nursing simulation labs including Sim Man manikins; the first digital college radio station and a unique TV production studio with robotics. The Lewis Flyers compete in NCAA Division II athletics and are members of the GLVC Conference with a multi-purpose athletic and recreation complex.
