Special learning opportunities include its unique Engaged Scholars Program, its Teaching Scholars Program, its Honors Academy, and its many opportunities for independent research, service learning and community service, and leadership development. Affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Lenoir-Rhyne University promotes a diverse campus open to people from all religious backgrounds designed to "liberate mind and spirit" and promote the growth of the whole person.
