Judson University

Judson University is an evangelical Christian university providing a liberal arts education that equips students to be fully developed, responsible persons who glorify God by the quality of their personal relationships, their work and their citizenship within the community, the nation and the world. With a beautiful wooded campus just 40 miles from Chicago, Judson's small, close-knit community has access to hundreds of cultural events and activities. Students receive close personal attention from highly skilled faculty (10 students per faculty) in an environment that provides a faith-based context for pursuing academic and professional degrees in over 60 undergraduate majors and 8 graduate programs. Students have the opportunity to participate in internships, missions and study abroad programs. Judson's most popular program is Architecture, which offers a Bachelor's and Master's degree, and is one of only two such programs in the U.S. to be offered by a liberal-arts Christian university. The Arts are also popular at Judson where students can study Graphic Design, Art, Film and Video, Photography, Worship Arts, Music, and Communication Arts. Students in these programs receive a liberal arts education that values creativity and celebrates their God-given talents in the classroom, studio, chapel and performance halls. Students in these areas are able to learn and study in state-of-the-art facilities. Music and Worship Arts students have access to "Dark Room Studios," a recording studio created by Ben Calhoun of Citizen Way. Architecture and Art and Design students are able to learn in one of the one of the environmentally friendly energy-efficient buildings in the U.S. (Harm A. Weber Academic Center), which earned a Gold LEED designation. The Benjamin P. Browne Library is also conveniently located in the Academic Center.Education majors can major in Early Childhood, Elementary, Physical, Secondary, or Special Education, and can also obtain a number of endorsements. Education graduates are well-recognized by local schools for their enthusiasm, creativity, and preparedness. The School of Business and Professional Studies provides stand-out programs in Accounting, Management, Marketing, Media Business Management and Music Business and Entrepreneurship. Students in these programs learn through a mix of practical business and management approaches, live case studies, internships, and academic projects. Business graduates are prepared to enter the work force with a unique tool--the values that come from an institution that explores how faith-based values influence and enhance all areas of business.Adult students who wish to earn a degree while working and raising a family will find a number of programs specifically geared for their lifestyle. Students who wish to pursue advanced graduate degrees in Architecture, Business, Mental Health Counseling, Human Services Administration, Leadership in Ministry and Literacy, which offers both a Masters and a Doctorate, will also find a home at Judson! Outside the classroom, Judson is home to the annual World Leaders Forum and Inspirational Series, which have brought in world leaders such as former President George W. Bush, Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev, Prime Minister Tony Blair, Mexican President Felipe Calderon, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Queen Noor of Jordan, and inspirational speakers such as Nick Vujicic and Mary Lou Retton!
