Founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, UIW is the largest Catholic university in the state and the fourth largest private university in Texas. The University of the Incarnate Words (UIW) main campus is located in the prestigious Alamo Heights area with satellite campus locations throughout San Antonio, a presence in Corpus Christi and campuses in Mexico and Germany.
