Houghton College

Since 1883, Houghton College has integrated high-quality academic instruction in the arts and sciences with the Christian faith, empowering its graduates for national and global impact. Houghton is selective in admission, attracting students from 31 countries and 28 states. Houghton's alumni serve in every state and in 66 countries around the world in all arenas of society, most notably in medicine, law and education. Houghton's curriculum offers 70 areas of study. Nearly 31 percent of all graduates attend graduate or professional school upon graduation. Numerous study abroad programs are available, including Houghton's own offerings in Tanzania and Eastern Europe. Houghton Honors Programs offer highly qualified students opportunities to study overseas during their first year. The Science Honors Program offers first-year students a solution-driven, interdisciplinary curriculum that addresses real-world problems. Houghton is located on a 1,300 acre campus in western New York and enrolls 1,000 full-time students, who are mostly residential. The campus includes a 386-acre equestrian center as well as cross-country and downhill ski trails. Houghton's campus combines classic-style architecture with state-of-the-art technology and facilities.
