Culinary Institute of America

For more than half a century, The Culinary Institute of America has been dedicated to providing the worlds best professional culinary education. The CIA offers associate degrees in Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry Arts, and bachelors majors in Management, Culinary Science, and Applied Food Studies. Our students benefit from an award-winning faculty, outstanding kitchen, laboratory and classroom facilities, and an experiential learning focused curriculum that features over 1,300 hours in the kitchens or bakeshops; rotations in highly regarded on-campus, public-dining restaurants; and an externship at one of more than 1,200 CIA-approved sites around the world. Backed by the CIAs industry-wide reputation for excellence, virtually all students are employed upon graduation and go on to become leading professionals cooking in restaurants, writing about food, styling food for the camera, baking, owning restaurants and cafes, developing food policy, working in research and development settings, teaching in culinary schools, and more. In 1995, the CIA added a branch campus in the heart of Californias Napa Valley - The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. The CIA continued to grow, and in 2008 established a second branch campus, this time in San Antonio, TX. In 2010, in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Technology, the CIA opened its Singapore location on the campus of Temasek Polytechnic. Also since 2013, the CIA has developed bachelors degree concentrations in Farm-to-Table: American Food Studies, Advanced Wine, Beverages and Hospitality, Latin Cuisine Studies, Asian Cuisine Studies, Advanced Concepts in Baking & Pastry, and Intrapreneurship.
