CSU is a comprehensive, liberal arts institution, preparing graduates in more than 40 undergraduate majors and 7 graduate programs. The university competes in the Big South Conference with 14 NCAA Division I athletic teams. CSU was founded in 1964 and has grown to serve almost 3400 students today. The university is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and has a mission of "Promoting Academic Excellence in a Christian Environment."
