Centenary College of Louisiana

The Centenary College of Louisiana experience is more than just a great education--it is a community where we invite our students do more academically, athletically, and socially in leadership and service-oriented activities. Our goal is to develop wise, caring, and moral leaders who are ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century. We intentionally engage students in the exploration of meaningful life-work by integrating strengths, passions, values, academic interests, and career goals so that students may begin to discover how to flourish at Centenary and as future professionals. An NCAA Division III school, we provide our athletes with ample opportunity to play and grow as competitors while still being able to pursue a multitude of other co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. Students are required to live on campus in a World House - a common residence with a common purpose - and are encouraged to participate in international travel so that they may enter the world as global citizens who respect other cultures, viewpoints, and traditions. Our students recognize the world as rapidly changing and wholeheartedly embrace its interconnected cultures. Our graduates go on to study medicine (Centenary has a 90 percent medical school acceptance rate over the past 5 years), law, the arts and sciences, and enter the workforce as culturally competent and creative thinkers. Centenary is a selective, residential, national liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Founded in 1825, it is the oldest chartered liberal arts college west of the Mississippi river and is a member of the Associated Colleges of the South.
