Babson College

Babson shapes the leaders our world needs most through Entrepreneurial Thought and Action(r), a methodology that's woven into our educational experience to emphasize the importance of action, experimentation, and creativity in business and beyond. Our graduates have strong functional knowledge and the strategic thinking and vision to navigate change, accommodate ambiguity, surmount complexity, and motivate teams. Every day, Babson students are learning to address real-world business and societal problems to create sustainable economic and social value in today's fast-paced global economy. Our Greater Boston location means students have the best of both worlds: a beautiful, residential campus with access to all of the cultural and recreational opportunities a large city offers. This close-knit New England school, one of the nation's top ranked small business colleges, enrolls an estimated 550 students into its first-year class, keeping the student population just under 2300. Babson's 370-acre campus is alive with intellectual, cultural, athletic, and social activities. 27% of undergraduates are international students representing 82 countries; 40% of domestic students are students of color; and 48% of undergraduates are women. Babson offers a strong business curriculum with a liberal arts foundation. Students benefit from taking at least half their courses in the liberal arts to ensure a balanced education that integrates liberal arts and management. The transformative experience of the first year is the award-winning Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship, a year-long course in which students create, start, and operate their own business or organization. Babson offers unique programs including first-year seminars, field-based learning, independent study, case competitions, women's leadership programs, presidential scholars, and an honors program. Students also have the opportunity to work as consultants to organizations as part of the Management Consulting Field Experience. All students are encouraged to take an active role in defining their course of study. This opportunity allows students to cultivate their interests, preparing them to meet their career goals upon graduation. All students graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree and may choose to focus their learning around one or more of 27 optional concentrations in both business and liberal arts. Nearly half of all students choose to take a semester abroad, elective abroad, or school break service trip. Babson offers 104 education abroad opportunities in 38 countries, including the BRIC program which takes students to Russia, India, and China as a cohort. In addition, students can spend a semester experiencing startups in Silicon Valley while they study at Babson's San Francisco campus. Elective abroad programs are short-term courses led by Babson faculty that combine on-campus classroom instruction with company site visits, cultural excursions, and hands-on experiences around the world. Babson students enjoy an extensive variety of extracurricular activities. Babson's 22 NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic programs include reigning national champion teams. Extracurricular opportunities range from intramural sports to our more than 100 student-run clubs and organizations, available across every interest spectrum. These activities include dance groups, theater, music ensembles, radio station, student government, student newspaper, business organizations, service organizations, and much more. The school also has 4 social fraternities, 3 social sororities, and 2 all-gender business fraternities. Approximately 21% of students are involved in Fraternity and Sorority Life. Babson's approach is unique. Our learning concepts provide students the ability to adapt to ever-changing business environments, the experience to hit the ground running upon graduation, and the know-how to discover opportunities that will create economic and social value everywhere.
