Assumption College, established in 1904 by the Augustinians of the Assumption, is an institution known for its classic liberal arts curriculum and strong academic programs in business and professional studies. Our 2,000 undergraduates choose from 41 majors and 48 minors and explore the rich Catholic intellectual tradition. The academic atmosphere is distinguished by individual attention and the quest for personal excellence. Undergraduate and graduate students join with faculty and staff in a thriving academic, social and spiritual community.Knowledge gained in the classroom is enhanced by practical application through internships and community service-learning opportunities. Students obtain professional experience and explore career options at local, national and international internship sites in virtually every field. Service-learning classes coordinate activities with nonprofit agencies and organizations so that students can integrate classroom learning with projects that benefit the broader community. A culture of mentorship helps each student find his or her path in life. Small class sizes allow professors to get to know and develop close bonds with students, and faculty-student research partnerships break exciting new ground while preparing students for future careers.Assumption has developed several targeted programs to forge and further these bonds.
