Agnes Scott College prepares all students to be leaders in a global society through SUMMIT, its signature innovative approach to a liberal arts education. SUMMIT provides every student, regardless of major, with a rigorous education that prepares them to become effective leaders in a global society. Every student is guided by a Board of Advisors, which includes a professional SUMMIT advisor for all four years, a major advisor, a SUMMIT peer advisor, and numerous career mentorship opportunities with the option of a dedicated career ally. In their first year, students travel on a faculty-led global immersion experience as part of a spring course, at no additional cost, and participate in a two-day leadership immersion retreat. Students complete a progressive curriculum and co-curriculum, including courses, labs, research and internships centered on leadership development and global learning. Students graduate from Agnes Scott with the skills necessary to succeed in the workforce or graduate school. SUMMIT builds on the strengths of Agnes Scott, which for over 125 years has educated women to think deeply, live honorably and engage the intellectual and social challenges of their times. The student-faculty ratio is 10:1, and all tenure-track faculty members hold a terminal degree in their field. More than 900 diverse students from 44 states and 26 countries study on a 100-acre campus in Decatur, Georgia, six miles from downtown Atlanta. Graduates of Agnes Scott earn prestigious scholarship and fellowships, including Fulbright grants, Rhodes Scholarships, Barry Goldwater Scholarships and Marshall Scholarships. Agnes Scott alumnae are Peace Corps volunteers, Teach for America educators, Americorps members and more. No matter where they land after graduation, SUMMIT at Agnes Scott prepares students to lead everywhere.
